Guillaume Bouvet, 27, creative craftsman designer and traveller
Attracted to work with his own hands and with curiosity to discover the world, Guillaume Bouvet embarks on the ‘Tour de France’ of the Compagnons du Devoir at the age of 17. To become a craftsman, a cabinet maker.
Drawing his inspirations from travelling, from Scandinavian design culture and the incontrovertible book of Raymond Loewy « la laideur se vend mal », Guillaume Bouvet makes his first exploits as product designer at the side of Gilles Damon from Damon Design.
In close contact with the professionals who he discovers in books and visits in their workshops he confirms his desire for the conception of wooden furniture, ergonomic and adjustable. His special interest lays with flexible furniture for the young. From these encounters, his new ideas and building on his solid ‘savoir-faire’ develops “AZ Desk”, un new desk for kids growing up. It is going to be presented at the Exposition Internationale de Design, the DMY-Berlin in June 2011.
